Aspiring actress killed in Georgia when neighbor accidentally fires gun

An aspiring actress died in Georgia when she was struck by a bullet that her neighbor accidentally fired through the wall of their apartment building, authorities say.

Carlether Foley, 36, who has film credits in several independent productions, was asleep when the bullet entered her apartment in Duluth on Sept. 26 and struck her in the head, KTRK-TV reported.

Foley’s son, Keyandre, 17, found his mom unresponsive and contacted 911, the outlet said.

Officers discovered a bullet hole in Foley’s wall and spoke to her 22-year-old neighbor, Maxwell Williamson, who told them that he was cleaning his gun when it accidentally discharged, authorities said. He claimed that he had forgotten it was loaded.

Williamson was taken into custody on charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct, the outlet reported.

Foley’s son said his mother worked hard to provide for him.

“It don’t feel real. I found my mama by myself,” Keyandre told the outlet. “I just don’t get it. I don’t understand. She don’t bother nobody. My mama didn’t do nothing.”

Carlether Foley leaves behind her 17-year-old son, Keyandre.

The teen is staying with Foley’s mother, who said she’s heartbroken over the loss.

“I’ve never experienced the hurt, the pain that I’m feeling. I don’t know what to do,” Foley’s mother, Jacquline, told the outlet.

She slammed Williamson for allegedly taking her daughter’s life.

“You had no right to take my baby from me. You had no business taking her life away from her child. He’s 17 years old. This is his last year in school. You have hurt my family. You have took my baby,” she said.
