Oakland bay hard rock band Drunk Horse, who recently reunited and who made a name for themselves in the late 1990s/2000s underground scene, is set to play the Ivy Room in Albany on Saturday night, according to CBS News.
Well known guitarist/singer Eli Eckert, who was a member of the punk bank Pants, drummer Chris Johnson (aka Cripe Jergensen), guitarist John Niles and bassist Cyrus Comisky formed the back in 1998.
While the band never officially announced a break up, the members of the band all went off to do their own thing and left the Drunk Horse project on good terms.
Demand from friends and fans would bring them all together again and in 2019 Drunk Horse was invited by the organizers of annual Portland, OR heavy psych, three-day festival celebration Stumpfest on 4-20 weekend.
In preparation for the festival, the band would play a warm-up gig at Eli’s which marked the first time that the band had played a hometown show in over a decade.
Now, together again, they take the stage at the Ivy Room where they be a part of a lineup that includes experimental power trio Terry Gross.
Saturday, Dec. 7, 8 p.m. $15-$18
